Watercolour is my sanctuary. It's been my safe haven during some of the most difficult times of my life. My process is completely self taught through careful study of the scenery and people around me. Growing up in rural British Columbia my first subjects were sea scapes. Now my favourite subjects are commissioned portraits and the people I meet on my travels which so far have included Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australia.
My work has found homes in collections across Canada, the USA, Europe, Africa and Australia. Recently I've also begun teaching workshops on the basics of portraiture. I juggle my studio practice with serving in the Canadian Army Reserves. Presently I am planning to return to Kigali, Rwanda for an exhibition and pondering a return to school to complete a Bachelor of Fine Art. I am always open to commission requests to commemorate a special memory or occasion.
